Nomex®: Nomex® is a Dupont® aromatic polyamide with an operating temperature range over 220 degrees centigrade and with superb high voltage breakdown. It is an excellent choice for standardization since it outperforms many other materials. The paper is used in electrical laminates such as circuit boards and transformer cores as well as fireproofing materials. Nomex Type 410 paper is the original and one of the larger grade types made, mostly for electrical insulation purposes.

Kapton®: is a polyimide film developed by DuPont™  which can remain stable in a wide range of temperatures, from -273 to +400 °C (0 – 673 K).[1] Kapton®  is used in, among other things, flexible printed circuits (flexible electronics) and thermal micrometeoroid garments, the outside layer of space suits. Kapton® HN - Used for the majority of applications, where its properties are required over a wide temperature range. Kapton® is extensively used for aerospace, printed circuit and traction motor applications, operating up to 400°C. It has proved to be an indispensable material for advanced applications.

Gap Pad: is a cost effective thermally conductive interface. The material is a filled thermally conductive polymer supplied on a rubber coated fiberglass carrier allowing for easy material handling. The conformable nature of Gap Pad VO allows the pad to fill in air gaps between PC boards and heat sinks or a metal chassis.
Thermal conductivity: 0.8 W/m-K Enhanced puncture, shear, and tear resistance Easy material handling Electrically isolating. Gap Pad provides an effective thermal interface between heat sinks and electronic devices where uneven surface topography, air gaps and rough surface textures are present.

PTFE: Products made with DuPont™ Teflon® fluoropolymer resins have exceptional resistance to high temperatures, chemical reaction, corrosion, and stress-cracking. The mechanical toughness, electrical, and low-friction properties of Teflon® make it the preferred plastic for a host of applications and different processing techniques.

PTFE Sheet is a specially important engineering plastic because of its outstanding lack of friction and slippiness, this is so incredibly low that is has been described as being the most slippy solid material known to man and PTFE Sheet can be cut into strips and can offer a massive improvement in the sliding components. PTFE is also highly specified due to its very high temperature resistance allowing components to withstand almost double that of other types of engineering plastic. PTFE Sheet has the capability to also withstand very strong acids and chemicals helping to provide solutions to acid storage and chemical problems. High electrical resistance is yet another feature of PTFE Sheet and PTFE is often used in high end electrical resistance appliances.

Acetal: sheets, plates and rods are among the strongest and stiffest of all thermoplastics. Acetal and Delrin plastic materials are characterised by good fatigue life, low moisture sensitivity, and high resistance to solvents and chemicals. Acetal products also contain good electrical properties. Homopolymer and Copolymer grade of acetal (Ertacetal brand name) are available including an enhanced bearing grade material. Derlin is a semi crystalline engineering plastic that is beneficial to engineering applications, and is suited to CNC machining.

Valox: Valox FR1, is a flame retardant thermoplastic polyester film ideally suited to electrcial applications. High specification material with ease of manufacturing: creasing,folding and die-cutting.Applications like Flat barrier insulation to EMI/RFI shielding . Polymex, Mylar and Melinex: Mylar® and Melinex® polyester films are flexible, exceptionally strong and durable translucent and clear films produced by DuPont. They have a high tensile, tear and impact strength. They remain tough and flexible at temperatures from -70°c to 150°c. Specific engineering functions include:-

An electrical barrier in motors, transformers and wire, cables and a host of uses in electronic and aerospace equipment. A thermal and electrical barrier in wire and cables.
